OTTUMWA, IA (KYOU) – A multi-national business is putting down roots in Ottumwa. Frito-Lay is building a warehouse and distribution center on Pawnee Drive in Ottumwa. Don’t get too excited. Sharon Stroh from Ottumwa Economic Development says it will only create jobs in the single digits. And the building will only be used for distributing goods in the area. Frito-Lay has been passing out their products from temporary locations in the area. But the warehouse will allow them to put down permanent roots in the area. They will have to pay property taxes to the city for the new location.
