Crystal Heights Care Center gives update on COVID-19 cases in its facility
OTTUMWA, Iowa (KYOU) - UPDATE (6/1/2020) - Crystal Heights Care Center in Oskaloosa which has been dealing with growing number of COVID-19 cases has given an update on its situation. A release on its Facebook page says as of today, Monday June 1st, 17 employees were positive, ten have recovered. The total number of COVID-19 cases of positive residents is 54. The facility says residents deaths remains at 9.
Update (5/27/2020) Crystal Heights Care Center is offering an update on its on-going battle with COVID-19 in its facility. In a press release it says there are 16 employees who are positive for the virus, one employee has recovered. They also mention 3 residents have passed away, bringing their total to 9 deaths.
It goes to say all residents who have tested positive will remain in isolation for at least 14 days. They have been and will continue to screenall staff at the beginning and end of their shifts. They also re-test all negative residents and staff.
Last Update (5/21/2020) Crystal Heights Care Center says one of its residents who had tested positive for COVID-19 passed away on May 18th.
It also reports two additional employees have tested positive bringing the total to 6 employees and 19 residents.
Original story: Crystal Heights Care Center in Oskaloosa announced it has over 20 cases of COVID-19 at its facility.
In a press release on its Facebook page, it says they had their first confirmed COVID-19 positive employee on May 12th. Then on May 16th, it had four employees and
19 residents who tested positive.
All residents who have tested positive will remain in isolation for at least 14 days.
The release says families, residents and staff have been notified and they will continue to screen all staff at the beginning and end of shifts for signs and symptoms as well
as monitor their residents’ health.
