Vista Woods now the latest care facility hit with COVID-19
OTTUMWA, Iowa (KYOU) - Saturday, May 16th Vista Woods Care Center in Ottumwa confirmed two residents were confirmed positive with COVID-19 and now that number has risen again.
As of Monday, May 18th seven more individuals were tested bringing the total number to nine positive cases. These individuals will remain in isolation for at least 14 days.
Due to privacy regulations, Vista Woods says they are unable to share more information about these individuals. In a statement Monday night the facility shared more information about the current situation.
“We have notified our residents, families, and staff of this development to keep them informed. We have been and will continue to screen all staff at the beginning and end of their shift for signs and symptoms of COVID-19 and continue to monitor our residents’ health and well-being. We will continue to keep family members up to date as this situation unfolds, so they have the latest information about their loved ones.
