Counterfeit bills circulating around Fairfield, Iowa

FAIRFIELD Iowa (KYOU) - Early Friday morning, June 5th Fairfield police officers investigated subject(s) passing counterfeit $100 bills.

Police say the fake bills say, “motion picture purposes”.

They are quite glossy and appear to be new. As this is an active investigation, police can’t advise suspect names until charges are filed.

The police is asking for business owners and community to be on the lookout for these type of bills.

Call the Law Center and let us them know if you’ve received any and police will respond to seize them.

Police say you can decide if you want to press criminal charges after discussing it with the officer or deputy who responds to your call.
