OTTUMWA, Iowa (KYOU) - The Ottumwa 8 movie theatre is ready to get back business.

But when you go, there will be some changes made to keep you safe while watching movies.

There’s plexiglass at the registers, hand sanitizers for employees and there are signs reminding everyone to keep their social distance.

Employees are required to have their temperature checked every shift and they will be wearing masks. Everything the employees touch will be cleaned.

But for customers, you will not be required to wear a mask, however it is encouraged to buy your tickets online to limit contact.

Theatre manager Vickie Schleif says total capacity has been cut down due to CDC guidelines.

"As of right now we are at fifty percent, so we do two chairs then we mark off two chairs, then two chairs then mark off two chairs. we're only allowed fifty percent of our capacity. "

The theatre has been shut down since March 17th. The manager says the staff is excited to show new movies once Hollywood releases them.
