Iowa DOT seeking input on proposed improvements to I-80 in Cedar County
AMES, Iowa (KCRG) - The Iowa Department of Transportation is requesting public input for proposed improvements to Interstate 80 from Cedar County Road X-52/Pine Avenue to 0.7 miles west of U.S. 6 at Sugar Creek.
Construction is anticipated to occur in 2023 and 2024. Traffic will be maintained during construction.
This project involves the replacement of the I-80 eastbound and westbound bridges over Sugar Creek, 1.5 miles west of the east junction of Iowa 38. The bridges have reached the end of their service life and are ready to be replaced. The bridges will be raised so adjacent sections of I-80 will be reconstructed to meet the elevation of the new bridges.
For general information regarding the proposed improvements please view the information online at www.iowadot.gov/pim
