Local organization hosts drive-up job fair
OTTUMWA, Iowa (KYOU) -
With many Iowans still looking for work, one agency is doing its part to help people find the perfect fit.
Today, Iowa Works hosted its first-ever drive-up job fair. The team handed out bags of flyers for current and immediate job listings for 49 employers.
Among those who are hiring are Hy-vee, Ottumwa Regional Health Center, Mercy One, and West Foods.
Iowa Workforce Business Marketing Specialist Samuel Busch says they aim to assist people during their job hunt, especially during the pandemic saying: "We’re seeing quite a few people come in that are looking for different positions. So, we come in and do our best and make a connection with those employers. If they have a specific employer that they are looking for or if there is something available we try to make that connection for the job seekers. "
If you weren’t able to make it to the job fair, Iowa Works staff is available at their office in Ottumwa and has a variety of resources to help job seekers find their perfect fit.
