OHS student arrested for having a gun on school property
OTTUMWA, Iowa (KYOU) - The Ottumwa School District announced a student brought a gun to school today in their backpack.
The press release says the student showed the gun to two other students but then left the premises.
The students told the administration who then worked with OHS School Resource Officers and the police department.
The student was taken into custody and has been charged with possession of a weapon and is currently not in school and will face discipline.
It goes on to say no threats were made to staff or students and the weapon was never inside the school and is now with the police.
