OTTUMWA, Iowa (KYOU) - This Friday you have a chance to enjoy a nice meal and support your local humane society here in Ottumwa.

What is usually a sit-down dinner has now turned into something similar to curbside pickup due to safety reasons.

The spaghetti bake dinner will cost ten dollars a meal starting on December 4th from 1 pm and again from 4 pm to 7 pm at the First Presbyterian Church. It’s located at 228 W. 4th Street.

Each meal will include spaghetti, meat sauce, and garlic bread.

Jean Sporer, who is the founder of the humane society says, all proceeds will be a huge help with expenses.

“We’re trying very hard to get a spay/neuter program started and we’d love to try to get that started and our vet bills verses we just got a dog in that had to go to the vet right away. Things like that we don’t plan on but it happens.”

Sporer says you can purchase a ticket ahead of time by calling this number, 641 -682-6228, or wait until the day of.
