OTTUMWA, Iowa (KYOU) - Just like most businesses in the U.S., the Bridge View Center has seen a loss of revenue due to the pandemic, Executive Director of the Bridge View Center, Scott Hallgren, shares how much was lost financially.

“We lost a total of 253 events and that net revenue is just shy of half a million dollars.”

In an effort to make up for those losses Hallgren says the Bridge View Center will be hosting a Christmas concert virtually.

“Virtually Celtic Christmas, we looked at it we were looking to get that done. Also, it’s turning into a little fundraiser for the Bridge View Center. We will be receiving a portion of every ticket sold. That will come back to support our theatre, and stage and allow us to host events in our BVC Theatre.”

Michael Londra, who is the star of the show is a huge advocate for the Bridge View Center’s success and says it is the bloodline of Ottumwa.

“It is the heartbeat that keeps your downtown beating and alive and anything you can do to attribute to that I think is really helpful.”

If you are interested in attending the virtual event, the deadline to buy a ticket will be Friday, December 11 at 7 pm.
