OTTUMWA, Iowa (KYOU) - The Salvation Army stopped by James Elementary School Friday morning to deliver a Christmas gift in appreciation of the staff. Through a grant from the Ottumwa Wal-Mart, Salvation Army envoys Joel and Ramona Arthur presented 44 $50 gift cards to Jay Green, the principal of James Elementary.

Joel Arthur says the gift emphasizes a special relationship between the elementary school and the Salvation Army.

“From our heart to this school. As we’ve said, we consider James to be our neighborhood school. In the future we’d like to do more things with James, and maybe lend a helping hand when you might need some volunteers.”
