Lovilia, Iowa man killed in head-on crash in Marion County

MARION COUNTY, Iowa (KYOU) - A Lovilia, Iowa man died in a head-on crash in Marion County Wednesday morning.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, 89-year-old Donald Shelford was driving southeast on Highway 5.
A vehicle driven by 51-year-old Janet Billings of Albia, Iowa was traveling northwest on the highway.
Police say both vehicles were taking a curve when Shelford’s vehicle crossed the centerline and struck Billing’s vehicle head-on.
Police say Shelford was taken to a Knoxville, Iowa hospital where he died, Billings was taken to a Pella hospital for her injuries.
