BLOOMFIELD, Iowa (KYOU) - Bloomfield City Council met Thursday night to discuss a condemned building in the city’s square.

The council approved the $74,000 payment to Duncan Construction to stabilize the buildings located at 112 and 113 South Madison Street.

Council members first took action on these structures back in October of 2020.

They also approved DeCarlo Demolition to remove the front facade and weatherize the buildings.

The locations are currently blocked off by the city.

No word yet on when the demolition will start.
