Oskaloosa’s downtown prepares for revamp
OSKALOOSA, Iowa (KYOU) -
Downtown Oskaloosa is getting a makeover.
Oskaloosa is heading into the next phase of the Downtown Facade Improvement plan which has been a five-year project expected to begin its third phase in June.
The plan includes the upgrade of six buildings and 11 different facades and Public Works Director Shawn Christ says these updates will be a great addition to the community.
“Downtown is where all the activities take place. It’s what Oskaloosa is known for. It’s what draws tourists and visitors here. It’s what our residents are proud of,” Christ told KYOU.
Downtown isn’t the only part of Oskaloosa getting a facelift. The city council also approve a new Mcdonalds with construction beginning at the end of March.
