OTTUMWA, Iowa (KYOU) - As more COVID-19 vaccinations become available across the country and in Iowa.

KYOU wanted to see when some of Ottumwa’s largest employers would be vaccinating its employees.

KYOU reached out to JBS and John Deere.

Nikki Richardson, a spokeswoman with JBS says JBS Ottumwa is currently planning to administer 1,000 vaccines onsite at its facility on Friday, March 12th in partnership with the health department.

Jennifer Hartmann, a spokeswoman with John Deere says on-site vaccinations have been approved for Iowa and Illinois.

But she adds timing and details regarding the on-site vaccinations for Iowa workers are not available just yet.

She said she would let KYOU know when the information is available.

Hartmann says they are vaccinating this week at four of its primary Illinois locations, mostly in the Quad Cities area.

She says immunizations are not required for its employees.
