OTTUMWA, Iowa (KYOU) - “Today I’m announcing that all Iowans will be eligible for vaccinations starting Monday, April 5th”.

She says that’s only if vaccine allocation continues to increase.

Governor Reynolds who has already been vaccinated encourages those who haven’t to do so once eligibility is available and says she’ll give an update by Wednesday the 24th on how soon Iowans can call to set up appointments.

“So next week we’ll have the white house call on Tuesday for the press conference next week so ill be able to give another update to Iowans to what that loos like to make sure they’ve confirmed what they’ve told us this week and possibly there could be additional vaccines.”

So far on the covid vaccine rollout progress report for Wapello county in Phase 1B Tiers 1-4, at least 70% of residents in those categories are complete with the vaccine while Tier 5 and those ages 64 and younger with medical conditions are still in progress.
