OTTUMWA, Iowa (KYOU) - Christmas is coming early for the Ottumwa Fire Department.
JBS presented them with a nearly $8000 check for their “Sparky Claus” program.
The money goes provide clothes to children in Wapello County School Districts and toys for kids through Sieda Community Action.
JBS’ Human Resources Director says since JBS is the largest employer in the city, donating to programs like this is a way to give back to their employees.
While the Fire Department collects money all year long for Sparky Claus, they say they really start promoting the program in October.
