FAIRFIELD, Iowa (KYOU) - William Coop is no longer sitting alone.

Sculpted in 1981 by Christopher Bennett, the Coop Statue is a sculpture of the first pioneer settler born in Jefferson County back in 1836 according to

JeffersonCountyTrails.org.

Around mid-May, KYOU reported the young boy that was a part of the statue had his finger broken and had to get it repaired, but as of Tuesday, June 1st the young

boy has returned and his finger is fixed.
