OTTUMWA, Iowa (KYOU) -Wapello Police arrested and charged Siearre J’Ashea Smith after she made a threat to blow up the Wapello County Attorney’s Office.

The criminal complaint says Smith was in the lobby of the attorney’s office back in late May and started yelling at the employees. While yelling at the office staff Smith stated “this place needs blown up and that’s exactly what I am going to do.”

Lt. Jason Bell with the Ottumwa Police Department tells KYOU, Smith was upset over a forfeiture case. He said after Smith made the threat, she left and then called the office and made additional threats.

Smith is charged with threat of incendiary or explosive device.
