Two died in a weekend crash in Marion County, Iowa

MARION COUNTY, Iowa (KYOU) - A weekend crash has left two people dead in Marion County, Iowa.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, 40-year-old Jonathan Slover of Burlington, Iowa was northbound on Highway 14 near Knoxville, Iowa.

He had stopped to make a left turn into a driveway when a vehicle driven by 27-year-old Alli Souhrada of Allison, Iowa didn’t see the other driver had slowed down and hit the vehicle.

A motorcycle driven by 74-year-old Lloyd Hedrick of Indianola, Iowa was coming from the opposite direction. Police say Hedrick tried to slow down but couldn’t and struck one of the vehicles.

Police say Hedrick and 60-year-old Lisa Wilmes also of Indianola, Iowa died in the collision.
