OTTUMWA, Iowa (KYOU) -Ottumwa City Council Member Skip Stevens announced his resignation from the Ottumwa City Council effective August 1st, 2021.

Stevens shared “My seven and a half years of serving on the City Council has been very rewarding and enjoyable. I wish to thank all who have supported me during my term.”

At next Tuesday’s City Council meeting the City Council will vote on how to fill the vacancy left by the resignation, whether by holding a special city election or by appointment.

Stevens’s council term was set to expire on January 3rd, 2022 at Noon.
