Former U.S. Secretary of State Michael Pompeo visits Southeast Iowa
OTTUMWA, Iowa (KYOU) - Former United States Secretary of State Michael Pompeo visited Ottumwa on Friday evening showing his support for Congresswoman Mariannette Miller-Meeks.
Pompeo, who is currently on a Champion American Values tour throughout the U.S. to endorse Republican candidates in the House and Senate for upcoming re-elections, also commented on his own political future.
During an interview with KYOU News, he shared his goals and if that included eyes on the 2024 election.
“If we get the house back in 2022 even just a small part of it I would have done a good thing for America. And, that’s what my wife Susan and I are dedicated to accomplishing,” Pompeo shared ahead of the event.
He also added that Iowa has a “good set of voting laws” and now it’s just about “making sure they are executed properly.”
