OTTUMWA, Iowa (KYOU) - A Burlington, Iowa man is facing charges of forgery and theft related to crimes police say he committed over a year ago in Ottumwa.

Court records say 24-year-old Brayden Freeman came to Ottumwa in March and April of last year. While he was here, he went to several businesses where he used counterfeit money to buy gift cards.

Some of the places police say he used the fake bills were Dollar General, Wal-Mart, and Hy-Vee.

Freeman was just arrested and he is now charged with forgery and theft.
