BLOOMFIELD, Iowa (KYOU) - Friday night at the Davis County football game the track was dedicated to former track Coach Dennis Anderson.

Before the game, the dedication took place where Coach Dennis Anderson spoke via video chat for everyone at the game to hear.

Anderson’s coaching career spans 50 years at Davis County. He had a compassion for his runners and when they tried their best and pushed the limit that was when Anderson was most proud.

Kent Anderson, Coach Anderson’s son spoke before the dedication about the pride his father had for his track stars. “I think that’s what makes him the proudest, seeing a young person get better and go beyond and break their own envelope,” says Anderson.

Soon after the dedication, the game between the Davis County Mustangs and the Van Buren Warriors kicked off. The ending score was Mustangs 29 Warriors 8.
