Student tracking app coming to Fairfield schools
FAIRFIELD, Iowa (KYOU) - The Fairfield Community School District will provide a student tracking app called Traversa Ride 360.
Already used in schools throughout Iowa, Ride 360 will provide parents the peace of mind knowing where their children are while riding on their bus and how long until their return.
Mark Branch, who is the district’s transportation director, says you start by scanning your child’s student ID card.
“It’ll scan the kids on and scan the kids off, they’ll have the little name badges so we’ll know where the students are all the time,” he says.
Only you will be able to track your child.
Ride 360 will be designed to track students that are loading on and off the bus from pre-k to middle school.
Some parents within the district think this is a great idea and look forward to it launching.
“It’d be a good idea to do and with everything crazy going on,” says Shauna Ellis.
“For one thing, say they got lost, it would help find them faster. Sometimes kids get scared when they’re lost or something is unfamiliar and they don’t know how to deal with it so I think it would be a great idea,” says Beverly Webster.
The Fairfield Community School District is planning to launch the app near the end of September.
