OTTUMWA, Iowa (KYOU) - After being hit financially by the pandemic the Bridge View Center is getting a helping hand from the Legacy Foundation.

Executive Director Scott Hallgren says the last 18 months have been the most difficult due to shutdown and furloughed employees. After they reopened there were no big events to book causing the financial hit. Hallgren states they tried to manage the expenses but it was difficult.

Now, the $10,000 Pandemic Relief Fund will help the center with continuing special projects that were put on hold according to Hallgren. “You know we are very fortunate to have their support because if we didn’t it would be a much different situation for the Bridge View Center.”

Hallgren said some of the special projects are fixing appliances and maintaining the building for future events to contribute to the quality of life in Ottumwa.
