OTTUMWA, Iowa (KYOU) - October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. You can help those fighting by giving blood.

The Ottumwa School District says Evans Middle School will host a Blood Drive for Breast Cancer on Thursday, October 21 from 3 - 5:30 p.m.

Donors that have not given blood in the last 56 days are eligible to donate.

Each donation will save three lives but it also helps cancer patients with getting more white blood cells that they lose during chemotherapy.

This helps patients fight off diseases and improve the blood’s ability to clot.

Impact Life says it only has enough blood to last two days!

Please consider donating and showing your support for those that are fighting or have fought breast cancer.

Email (brian.cutsforth@ottumwaschools) or call (641-684-6511 x69135) to set up an appointment.
