Midwest Ford Fest Club presents checks to the community
OTTUMWA, Iowa (KYOU) - Club member Sam Saffel paid the Indian Hills Community College Diesel Tech students a visit to show the club’s appreciation. “In appreciation for your help, we want to present a $1,000 check to the Diesel Tech Club,” says Saffel. The Tech group has helped the club for the past two years.
Keith Crist, Instructor in the Diesel Tech Department, says this is a nice help to fund their training expenses. “We go different places and we have a meal occasionally so we need a little money every once in a while to do some different projects and make some fun things to go along with our training,” he shares.
Midwest Ford Fest members also stopped by the Blessings Soup Kitchen in Ottumwa to present the owners with a $500 check.
Sheri Locke, Co-Director of the Soup Kitchen says this check will help with the hundreds of people they feed every day. “We’re feeding a lot of people each day. two to three hundred people and it’s a pleasure and a blessing to be able to do it. it is with great appreciation that we accept this thank you very much,” says Locke.
The Midwest Ford Fest took place this past August.
