Cold front brings wind, chillier temperatures for Thanksgiving
OTTUMWA, Iowa (KYOU) - Thanks to an approaching cold front, we will be turning toward colder conditions for Thanksgiving Day. That front could bring a light shower to part of the area this evening before the focus for that activity shifts to our southeast.
The trip back below normal for highs is short-lived. Still, gusty northwest winds keep our highs near or just above freezing for turkey day, with wind chills likely staying in the 20s for much of the day.
Winds then shift to a southerly direction on Friday, prompting a warm-up that results in highs in the 50s for much of the rest of the 7-day forecast, except for Sunday. Overall, no additional chances for precipitation show up in our area during the next several days, making for easy local holiday travel.
