OTTUMWA, Iowa (KYOU) - Today’s chillier temperatures are just a minor setback in what should be a week of well above normal highs.

Despite the cooldown today, our highs still maintain levels just above normal in the mid 40s. Northwest winds will add a bit of a chill to the air through the day. Those winds become southerly tonight, setting up a day that likely reaches the upper 50s and low 60s to start the workweek.

Highs fall a bit toward midweek, before a big jump on Thursday. Then, readings will be 25 to 30 degrees above normal for this time of year, well into the 60s.

A more significant cooldown looks possible by next weekend.
