OTTUMWA, Iowa (KYOU) - The Ottumwa Legacy Foundation is awarding $200,000 dollars to local law enforcement for a new dispatch system.

Ottumwa’s Police Chief has said their current system is not working well. Police and sheriff departments are looking into a new computer aided dispatch system that would be shared between departments, as well as EMA, EMS, and Fire.

But the project will also require funding from the City Council and County Board of Supervisors, likely through the use of American Rescue Plan funds.
