OTTUMWA, Iowa (KYOU) - Temperatures begin to trend downward in the coming days, returning us to more near seasonal and eventually below average temperatures through next week. Tonight, look for mostly clear skies and lows down into the upper 30s. Friday features sunshine and similar temperatures to Thursday, topping out in the upper 50s. Cooler air begins to settle in Saturday. By the end of the weekend, a stronger system advances into the Midwest. Showers are possible on Sunday and behind the front highs fall to the 30s by Monday with gusty winds returning as well. Rain and some snow are possible by Tuesday.
